What (or Who) is Vispärtu?
Pronounced: vis·pär·tu
Vispärtu is a word I made up. It is made up of several words from different languages, and is roughly translated as ‘My Vision For You!’
Meaning: the ability to conceptualize and visualize for YOU
Vispär: a parallel processing system for interactive visualization; Swedish translation "whip, stir, incite!"; (vis pär) French translation "live by"
Vis/Vision: the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom
Pär/Pour: (pär) French translation "by"; (pour) French translation "for" - equal in importance or value
Tu: French translation "You"
How Did I Get to Vispärtu?
I grew up on the East coast amongst a family of artists. I started writing at the age of 6 (my first poem) and started drawing, painting, and photography by 8. I have continued to pursue these endeavors throughout my life in various ways.
At 14 my father asked me to help manage a small shop. He gave me no direction, just asked me to come up with my own systems and solutions. From that point forward I realized I had a skill for visualizing, manifesting, and generating solutions.
Later, I went to Bennington College in Vermont, where I received a degree in Visual Anthropology, learning how to Study and See people.
After college, I moved to Washington state and started a career in Communications for non-profits, honing my skills as a writer, communicator, event planner, and creative problem solver, learning how to Communicate and Present.
After 15 years of working for non-profits, I started a new career in television advertising and marketing. Working with hundreds of businesses as well as advertising agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest, I helped my clients develop marketing strategies across a variety of visual platforms. Over those 30 years, I also ran a small business as a professional photographer, showing my art, and shooting weddings and portraits.
Eventually, I shifted to digital marketing, website design, and journalism. The internet is where we share our stories now, which is why I launched Vispärtu.
I want to help others understand marketing, and in turn, make their marketing more manageable and profitable! Whether it’s how you’re Seen or how you’re Heard - Vispärtu is about the words and visuals coming together in the perfect synopsis.
Personally, my passions are rooted in creativity and wellness. My personal writing and art are rooted in living a healthy and fulfilled life - finding beauty and joy in the world we live in.
I am an Artist, a Strategist, and a Visualist.
My goal in life is to see, understand, and make peace with all that surrounds me.
